Microsoft Access Forum

Welcome to the Microsoft Access Forum. Access is by far our most popular topic here at Computer Learning Zone. This forum is for everyone to read but only students (paid customers) can post here. If you'd like to become a student, all you have to do is enroll in one of my courses. After you create a logon, you will have full access to the Forums.

Subscribe to this forum and receive an email update whenever new posts are added. You will also be notified by email if any conversations you are involved in receieve new comments. Yes, even non-students can subscribe to update notifications.

Having problems with your Access database? Before posting your question, check to see if it's already been answered. You can use the Search feature to look for keywords. There's also the Access Troubleshooting Checklist which covers solutions to many common problems. If neither of those things help, make sure you post exactly what you're doing, what the specific error message is, what you've tried, and any other details we might need to help you. Don't just say, "I get an error." Tell us what the error is and what you're doing. We're not mind readers. I wish. LOL

Hello Richard

I have a mystery for some reason after bringing in the tables forms queries into another database the reports/invoices don't match up with what's on the screen do you have any suggestions don't really want to print everything out and start entering everything again this is a real mystery the product list was rewritten to get them into a better order a while back but all the totals do come to what they should be so it's a real mystery I could wipe the order detailed table and re-enter 700+ orders I will do this if necessary Read More...

Hi Michelle. Without seeing your database, it's impossible for me to tell what's going on. If you imported all of the objects from your old database, they should "match up," but again, if I can't see it, it's hard for me to tell.

I'm happy to give you personal email assistance. The Forums and TechHelp are FREE support, and I answer as many of them as I can every day. If you need me to look at your database or give you one-on-one help, see my Consulting page for details.

It should just be a matter of math. If you've got Text1 and Text2 then in Text3 just make the ControlSource =Text1/Text2. Provided they're numeric values, that should be all you need to do.

You have to switch the Navigation Pane to LIST view (Right Click > View By > List). One of my members just emailed me asking about Navigation Pane options so I'm going to make a TechHelp video about this soon. The other option (Tabbed vs. Overlapping Windows) is in your Database Options. File > Options > Current Database > Overlapping Windows. And yes, that's covered in Access Beginner 1 which LOTS of people skip over!
