Microsoft Access Form / SubForm
Setting up a Form with a SubForm in Access
Q: I need to be able to track my students in a database
along with what courses each student is enrolled for, and what date the
course begins. How would I go about doing this?
A: For this, you would create
two tables - one for your Students, and another for the Courses that
student is taking. Then you would set up a Form with a Subform so that
you can enter in all of the courses for that student, along with the
details.

Fortunately, there is a Subform Wizard that will walk you
through most of the process once you have your tables set up. This is much easier to SHOW you than to explain here, so watch
the following free mini tutorial for step-by-step instructions. This
topic is fundamental to building good relational databases in
Access, so I spend a lot of time in my full classes to it.
Here is a FREE VIDEO TUTORIAL
that will walk you through this topic in detail:
I teach the concepts in this free mini tutorial in my
Access 202 course. These are
full courses - over 60 minutes in length each. I spend a lot more time going
over how to do this, in addition to lots more tips and tricks.

Relational Tables,
