Standalone Class ModulesUpload ImagesLink Gilbert Alphin 11 months ago
Hello Richard Rost, hope you are faring good with the aftermath of Hurricane IAN.
I need practice with "Standalone Class Modules". Do you have lessons that make use of Standalone Class Modules? Thank you. Gilbert Alphin

Richard has said that you don't really need class modules in Access, but he will cover them in the future.
Class modules have to do with "objects" and object-oriented programming (OOP). They are most often used in projects that involve a lot of custom objects. If you develop custom controls for Access, add-ons, and the likes, if you develop video games that involve making new characters, objects, etc., you are in need of OOP. Basically, if you develop software tools of any kind, you most likely use OOP. Even Access, Word, and Excel are composed of tons of objects: DoCmd, Forms, Recordset, etc. are names that represent objects.
