Microsoft Access Developer Network

Welcome to the Access Developer Network. If you are looking for someone to help you with your Microsoft Access database issues, troubleshoot problems, or even build a database for you, then you have come to the right place. For complete information on the Access Developer Network, please click here for details and instructions for posting.

Developer Students: if you're interested in picking up some consulting work, subscribe to this forum and receive an email update whenever new posts are added. You will also be notified by email if any conversations you are involved in receive new comments.

Please note, that I do allow any of my students to respond to requests posted here. It's an open forum. However, unless you see the Access Veteran badge next to their name (shown at right), then I do not personally recommend them. My Access Veterans are long-time students of mine who I know have completed most, if not all, of my Developer lessons and really know what they're doing when it comes to Microsoft Access.

As a disclaimer, I take NO responsibility for any work provided by ANY person you may meet through this Forum. This is simply a meeting place I have arranged to put people who NEED help together with people who want to PROVIDE help. I, Richard Rost, assume NO liability for any services provided. Use at your own risk. Same goes for both users and providers. You are both responsible for your own interactions, work to be done, and any payments promised.

anyone to help me?
I am having trouble when adding data to my subform, when I add a line to the subform I get this error (see below the screenshot) and the child's field (The field which should be making the relation between the master and subform) doesn't get edited

Only to tell you NOT to use them. In fact I just searched my outline, and the 2nd line under Access Developer 18, Lesson 1 says "Problems with ActiveX Controls." Try moving the form to a brand new, empty database WITHOUT any other ActiveX controls in it, and see if it works there.

Could also be caused by having a table or form with an OLE Field. Again, I hate those. Get rid of them.

Found that when I use the form wizard I don't get this error message, and the subform is working fine.
It's for sure the ActiveX control, however, I don't have any idea what ActiveX is, I guess I will need to have Patience until I get to Developer 18!!!
I believe that these obstacles give me the way to understand better how things work, experience doesn't just mean more years but proper understanding!!
