Microsoft Access Developer Network

Welcome to the Access Developer Network. If you are looking for someone to help you with your Microsoft Access database issues, troubleshoot problems, or even build a database for you, then you have come to the right place. For complete information on the Access Developer Network, please click here for details and instructions for posting.

Want to see Testimonials from other clients that have found Access help here in the Developer Network? Click here.

Developer Students: if you're interested in picking up some consulting work, subscribe to this forum and receive an email update whenever new posts are added. You will also be notified by email if any conversations you are involved in receive new comments.

Please note, that I do allow any of my students to respond to requests posted here. It's an open forum. However, unless you see the Access Veteran badge next to their name (shown at right), then I do not personally recommend them. My Access Veterans are long-time students of mine who I know have completed most, if not all, of my Developer lessons and really know what they're doing when it comes to Microsoft Access.

As a disclaimer, I take NO responsibility for any work provided by ANY person you may meet through this Forum. This is simply a meeting place I have arranged to put people who NEED help together with people who want to PROVIDE help. I, Richard Rost, assume NO liability for any services provided. Use at your own risk. Same goes for both users and providers. You are both responsible for your own interactions, work to be done, and any payments promised.

Text Box Based on Combo Box Upload Images   Link

I am creating a production scrap calculation.
The combo box is the part number. The material is x number of parts per inch.
The number of inches is recorded and I want to calculate the scrap.  Inches * X = scrapped material.  I tried the following DLOOKUP but get a NAME error.
=DLookUp(PerInch),(AA-0000ContactsTBL),(contactorpin=) & CON1_1Combo)
Any idea of what I am missing?

=DLookUp([PerInch],[AA-0000ContactsTBL],[contactorpin]= & CON1_1Combo)

Review the DLookup video.

Wow. I messed that up. lol

=DLookUp("PerInch", "AA-0000ContactsTBL", "contactorpin=" & CON1_1Combo)

I would also suggest using [ ] around the fields/tables with special characters if you run into any issues.

=DLookup("PerInch","[AA-0000ContactsTBL]","ContractorPin=" & [Con1_1Combo])

If ContractorPin is a short text field, you'll also need to use Double Double Quotes
