Combo Box that Gets Values from Another Table

 S  M  L  XL  FS  Join Now

In this video, I will show you how to pick a customer from a list of customers when filling out service forms.

Marie from Chandler, Arizona (a Platinum Member) asks: I have a simple service call form where I enter the customer's name, the service date, and a description of what needs to be done. Is there any way that I can pick the customer from a list instead of having to enter in their info each time I make a service ticket?

Members will learn how to create a List Items Edit Form so that you can add to or modify the existing list of customers directly from in the combo box. We will see how to use the VBA On Not In List event to add the user's suggestion directly from code.

In short: "On Not In List Event" is a necessary step at this point. So thank you for your ability to get the core figured out.

I have a jeweler that I am trying to recreate a lost front end for his database updated to Access in 2013, originally created in 2000 under dBase.

I understand the single item, like name prefix, suffix, staff initials, etc. However, if they open the "order form", I need to set it so they can enter a new customer if one is not already in the system, then have it auto populate with the new customer's details.

I did find another user on YouTube (Robert Heifler) that has the steps to creating the need in his video (bDZaA-nqJWk) posted May 18, 2015. However, his website is no longer in existence, so access to his template as referenced, is non-existent.

While I wait on a response, if you have done this part yet, or not, I will see if I can copy over his code 1 character at a time into my preferred text editor: Notepad++.

Thank you very much.
