IntroIn lesson 222, you will learn more advanced data analysis techniques in Microsoft Excel, including working with styles, using auto-outlining, manually grouping data, and applying data validation. This lesson builds on material covered in previous data analysis courses and is suitable for most versions of Microsoft Excel.TranscriptWelcome to Microsoft Excel 222 Data Analysis 3, brought to you by ExcelLearningZone.com. I am your instructor, Richard Rost.In today's class, we are continuing with our Data Analysis series to cover styles, auto-outlining, manual grouping of data, and data validation. Before taking this class, you should have taken Excel 220 and 2201, Data Analysis 1 and 2. We will be using Microsoft Excel XP 2002 for class. However, this lesson should be valid for every version of Microsoft Excel. We recommend you sit back and watch the lessons one time through to get a feel for what I am doing. Then go back a second time and do the exact examples that I do in class on your own. I recommend that you type in the spreadsheet data as I type it in. There is a lot to be said for typing in your own data. However, if you do not like typing, you can download a sample web spreadsheet at ExcelLearningZone.com/excel/222. QuizNo quiz available.SummaryToday's video from Excel Learning Zone continues the Data Analysis series in Microsoft Excel. In this lesson, I will be discussing styles, using auto-outlining, manual grouping of data, and setting up data validation. These tools are essential for anyone who needs to manage and analyze data effectively within Excel. Before you start with this lesson, it is important that you have already completed Excel 220 and 2201, which are Data Analysis 1 and 2. Having this background knowledge will help you understand the concepts we work with today. I'll be using Microsoft Excel XP 2002 during the class, but the concepts and techniques you will see today are applicable to all current versions of Excel, so you should have no trouble following along no matter which version you use. To get the most out of this lesson, I suggest first watching the entire session to see how I work through each topic. Once you have a good understanding of the workflow, watch the lesson again and work through the examples step by step with me. Entering the data into your spreadsheet as I do will really help reinforce the concepts. Typing the data out yourself also makes sure you pay attention to the little details, which can help with memorization and understanding. If you would rather not type in all the sample data manually, you can download a prepared sample spreadsheet from my website at ExcelLearningZone.com, specifically on the Excel 222 page. You can find a complete video tutorial with step-by-step instructions on everything discussed here on my website at the link below. Live long and prosper, my friends.
