For me, I am driven by two main philosophies: know more today about the world than I knew yesterday and lessen the suffering of others. You'd be surprised how far that gets you.
I had an email exchange recently with someone who works for an IT company and one of their services includes fixing/developing Access databases (He did some work for me a few years ago and they are not cheap!). I mentioned that I was taking Computer Learning Zone (CLZ) lessons and he said he was very familiar with CLZ and had very high praises for it.
It's always nice to hear praise coming from other IT professionals that know of my lessons. Usually what I hear from people is that they talked to so and so computer guy and he said that Microsoft Access isn't a real database and that it's just for kids. Those people get nothing but my scorn. Lol.
