Can I still take advantage of your "Access SQL Server Online" course even though I would prefer not to use WinHost Web Hosting service?  I would prefer to retain my current WordPress Site.

Thanks in advance, Rob Thompson

What features are you currently using?

Wordpress is a CMS.
It uses PHP as the main programming language.
And is usually a MySQL database backend.

Hi Alex Hedley,

I'm still learning about all the features available via WordPress hosting services, and the specific forms that would allow me to tie into a SQL Server db.  I've already setup SQL Server express account and uploaded a backend to it.  I've also had some practice connecting an Access front end to it.

I was hoping that WinHost wasn't a hard requirement for the seminar attendees.

Kind regards,
-Rob Thompson

I'm not sure why you've chosen Wordpress then?
What type of website are you looking to make.

Hi Alex Hedley,

The site already exists.  Currently the site distributes entry forms and information for dog agility events.  We'd like to expand the site to let us process online entries too, which is where db functionality comes into play.  There appears to be several different sql db plugins available like WP Data Access.

Thanks,
Rob Thompson

Looks like WP Data Access supports MS SQL Server.
But is that just connecting to an already existing one?

Are you wanting to learn how to create and manage a MS SQL Server?

Hi Alex Hedley,

I'm more interested in taking some of my existing MS Access forms and other database objects and integrating them into my existing WP site to allow my customers to enter events online.  That's why I'm interested in the "Access SQL Server Online" seminar.

I would also be interested in learning how to create and manage a MS SQL Server, like you mentioned.

I have another question, if I purchase a "Learning Connection" subscription, can I immediately enroll in the above seminar and get a 50% discount?

Kind regards,
-Rob Thompson
