I've Been Given the Microsoft MVP Award for a 3rd Time!

I'm happy to announce that I've been given the Microsoft MVP Award for a third time. It's a great honor given by Microsoft every year to "technology experts who passionately share their knowledge with the community." There are only about 3,000 people worldwide who have this distinction and I'm very happy to once again be listed amongst them.

I was awarded for the first time back in 2014 and then again 2015. Then due to some personal and professional setbacks (including some health issues) I was unable to contribute much for a few years. However since 2020, I've been more productive making new videos than ever before. I love Access, and I love teaching, so making videos for you guys is definitely a passion of mine. It's nice to be recognized for my work.

I'd like to thank Mike Wolfe from NoLongerSet.com for nominating me last year. Alex Hedley, my right hand man and admin on my website nominated me back in 2014. Back then anyone could put in a nomination. Microsoft changed the rules a couple years ago so now only current MVPs and Microsoft employees can put in nominations. So thanks again to Mike and to Alex and of course the other guys on my website who help things to run smoothly in the forums: Kevin, Adam, Scott, Dan, Juan, and John. I couldn't do all of this without your help.

So here's to another year of making lots of awesome video tutorials and I've got lots more planned for 2023. Cheers!

Transcript Hey there folks, this is Richard Rost with accesslearningzone.com.

I am very happy to announce that I've been given the Microsoft MVP Award for a third time. It is a great honor given by Microsoft every year to technology experts who passionately share their knowledge with the community after they've got on their website.

There are only about 3,000 people worldwide who have this distinction and I'm very happy to once again be listed amongst them. I was awarded the MVP first time back in 2014, then again in 2015, and then due to some personal and professional setbacks, including some health issues, I was unable to contribute much for a few years.

However, since 2020 I've been more productive, making new videos than ever before. I think the pandemic actually helped me because I had no choice but to sit behind my computer and make videos.

I love Access, I love teaching, so making videos for you guys is definitely one of my passions, and it's nice to be recognized by Microsoft for my work.

I'd like to thank Mike Wolf from noongerset.com for nominating me last year, and Alex Healey, my right-hand man and admin on my website, for nominating me back in 2014.

Back then, anyone could put in a nomination, but Microsoft changed the rules a couple of years ago, so now only current MVPs and Microsoft employees can put in nominations.

So thanks again to Mike, and Alex, and of course the other guys on my website who help things run smoothly in the forums: Kevin, Adam, Scott, Dan, Juan, and John. I couldn't do all of this without your help.

So here's to another year of making lots of awesome video tutorials. I've got lots more planned for 2023, so cheers.

And of course, thanks to all of you, my YouTube viewers and subscribers, and of course my members. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to do what I do best, which is make videos for you guys.

So to everyone, live long and prosper and I'll see you next time.

Summary Today I am excited to share that I have received the Microsoft MVP Award for a third time. This is an honor that Microsoft gives each year to technology professionals who actively share their expertise and help the community through various channels, such as educational resources and forum participation.

This award is quite exclusive, with only around 3,000 people worldwide recognized as MVPs each year. I was first awarded in 2014, and then again in 2015. After that, I faced some personal and professional obstacles, including health issues, and was unable to contribute as much as I wanted for a few years.

Since 2020, though, I have returned to making more educational content than ever. The pandemic played a part in this for me, as it kept me indoors and focused on producing new Access videos. Teaching and working with Access are both things I am passionate about, so creating videos for this community is truly rewarding. It means a lot to have this dedication recognized again by Microsoft.

I would like to specifically thank Mike Wolf from noongerset.com for nominating me last year, as well as Alex Healey, who is not only an administrator for my website but also nominated me initially back in 2014. In the past, anyone was able to submit a nomination, but Microsoft's policies have since changed, so now only current MVPs and Microsoft employees can put someone forward for consideration.

I am also grateful to the team members who help run the Access Learning Zone forums: Kevin, Adam, Scott, Dan, Juan, and John. Their ongoing help is essential, and I could not manage everything without them.

Looking ahead to the rest of 2023, I am committed to creating even more useful and engaging tutorials for you. I appreciate all of my viewers, subscribers, and members for supporting my work and providing the opportunity for me to do what I enjoy most – teaching Access and making videos.

Thank you again to everyone who has supported me on this journey. Live long and prosper, my friends.
