disconnect name from fieldUpload ImagesLink Harold Laski 14 months ago
I have imported 20 fields from a table to a form. Of course the name of the field gets imported at the same time as the field itself. Is there a way to "disconnect" them individually or as a group so that I have the freedom to move them whereever I want. I have been deleting the field name and then creating another one. Is there a simpler way? I used to program in a database called Alpha Five. All I would have to do is right click on the field and click on a "de-link" command and the title of the field would be freed from the field itself.

Just click on the label and hit Ctrl-X (cut). Click on the background and hit Ctrl-V (Paste).
You can do multiple labels at a time. Select just the label and Cut / Paste and they will be disconnected.
I you ever want to reconnect you have to do them individually. Cut the label the click on the field to select it. Ctrl-V (Paste) and the label will be re-linked.

Hitting Ctrl-X does disconnect them but it also erases the label from the field. Rt clicking on the label unlinks them. I found that Ctrl-Y on the background after a Ctrl-X does not do anything. My question is therefore is there a way to disconnect multiple labels since clicking on multiple labels greys out the "change to" butoon after rt-clicking on a label.

Re-read my instructions.
Select just the labels. Cut them.
Click background. Paste them. They should come in at the top left of the form (or report).
They are now disconnected.
