Removing References

I usually like to try before asking but this time I need to ask. Can I remove (uncheck) all references in VBA to experiment and find out which ones are used/needed? I received a message today that "MSCAL.OCX ver 7.0 is missing" but it does not show up as missing in the references list. This is in a database I originally built in Access 95. I have upgraded it with each version as they came out. Also, I noticed that the FE and BE files do not have the same references. Should they?

MSCAL.OCX is the Microsoft Calendar Control. It is no longer available in newer versions of Access. I believe it was removed in Access 2010.

Thanks Kevin. I do not see that in the list of References so I am curious why I received the message.

Would you have added the ActiveX control to the database when it was available? Check your forms. Deleting the control should solve the problem - at least you won't get that error message. You will still have to come up with a different solution as the functionality linked to the control will be broken.

Take a look at the addendums for the Calendar Seminar.

When I open the original database Richard built in the seminar, I get the same error message (see screenshot).

I'll do some checking tomorrow. You are an asset to this community. Thanks again.
