Hair pulling error

Richard,
About a week ago I created an unbound form as a MasterF.  I placed some text boxes on there and in their control source I used some Dsum & DLookup formulas to grab some basic info so I had it when the db opened.  All worked great for the last several days.

Today I open the db (Access 2010),and in some I get the #Name? error and in some others the #Error! error.  The boxes with the #Error! were also flashing continuously and I couldn't go into design mode, or close the form or database!!

I thought that it may be related to some of the boxes looking at a date value in the TodaysDatetxt text box.  So I changed the date on the computer back to 7/31/2013 and rebooted the computer.  Still no go.

So I took out every formula.  I then tried to build just one of them to see if I could get it to work.  The thing is I can get it to work, many many thimes after saving and closing and reopening the form.  But when I close and reopen the db I get the #Name? error every time.

Here is one formula I'm working with:
=DLookUp("Deposit","SavingsQ","TransDate = #" & [Forms]![CIDCMainF]![Text65] & "#")

The strange thing is, if I delete "Text65" and create brand new Text66, I can get the formula to work perfectly----until I close and reopen the db.  What is so frustrating is that it all worked beautifully for days!

Can you advise me on anything I might be doing wrong?  Your help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Don

Reply from Richard Rost:

I've never seen anything like this before. I'm assuming you tried a compact/repair. That doesn't seem like anything that the database should normally do, and it almost seems like you've hit a BUG in Access. Make sure you install the Office 2010 Service Pack 2 that I wrote about a few days ago and let me know if the problem recurs. I might have to look at your database.

Your DLOOKUP statement looks fine. You might want to try moving it to the OnCurrent Event of your form INSTEAD of having it as the field's control source. Just say:

FieldName = DLOOKUP...
