I got here from the installing .Net lesson. Is there more to do to be able to use VB.NET?

In what way?
What can't you do currently?

Have you installed Visual Studio?
- Install Visual Studio
- Install VS 2026

I can't do anything, because I haven't yet installed anything DOTNET. Can you provide a list of steps to get VB.NET up and running? How does VB.Net relate to the installing .NET lesson? We need the big picture overview. There were no links for using or installing VS on the pages I was looking at.

.NET is the framework behind letting you write code in VB.NET/C#/F# etc

You have both links.
Install the runtime.
Install the IDE.
Pick the choices of the things you want to develop for e.g. Desktop/Mobile etc

Then keep watching the rest of the TechHelps for how to create your first Project.

I've broken them down into bite size specific videos for easy reference.

I welcome the feedback and will certainly add links or pre-requisites to the pages.

Alex I see two links in the message above, but it's not clear since Visual Studio I assume that's what VS stands for. Or is one the runtime and the other not? When do we install .NET, before or after or does it not matter?

Yes VS stands for Visual Studio - that is the IDE used to create applications and the one used in the VB.NET courses.

You can install VS before or after .NET is installed, that is the runtime etc used by VS, if there isn't a version it will install it with the IDE.
