Help Filtering Records by User Input

I would like to add buttons to my main menu.  I have an evolving non-conformance database and I would like to add buttons to the main menu user can click on to open a list of historical non-conformances.  I want to have the user to enter an item and generate a list for that item based on the start date they enter.  I set up a query that works fine; however, the item has to be entered exactly as it was entered at the time of entry otherwise no results are retrieved.  All items are formatted by part number, a space the a "/" Rev whatever (XXXXXXX /Rev Y).  We have some long part numbers.  Is there a way to use a combo box so the user can start typing in the part number and find the part number in the list?  Is there a way to generate results using wild cards for example.  Am I better of using a form?  Does Richard have a Tech Help Video for help?  My management team likes my current progress; I am now working to get more granular data to focus on improvements.

Very good question. I'll give you a detailed answer in today's Quick Queries video. Stay tuned.

First, write or buy a real menuing system. Putting buttons on a main form, that's so early 2000.
Oh wait, mine is a rewrite from the 1970s.

This is just one menu of dozens that have a hierarchical structure. This sample from the AU module, shows what works in ALL modules for importing ALL files from third parties to one Access table per application module (AP, AR, etc.).
