Craig you are correct in your assessment of how CountBlank works. What you would have to do in this case is make a parallel column (let's say column C) where you have C1=B1, C2=B2, etc. Now, if B1 and B2 are merged, then C1 will show that value, and C2 will always show a 0. Perhaps this will help you.
