I need a lot more information than this, James. What do you mean by "calculate property size?"

Sorry about that.So we have jobs that require me to Calculate Material like "Mulch, Rock, and etc." for customers property. Also, I have the calculate "Customers Property Size or Area" to know calculate the time it will take to service a property. I was wondering if there was a way to use or setup a Form as Calculator to enter Data.

I'm sure you could, but I'd need to know more about your parameters before I could guide you. For example, if you were a painter, and you told me that 1 gallon of paint covered 10 square feet of wall, and you had the dimensions of all the walls you needed to paint (width, height, length) then I could show you how to calculate that. I don't know your business, so I can't give you specifics.

Hey Richard, I own an lawn and landscape maintenance company that does Jobs that require us to Calculate Materials like "Mulch, Rock, and etc." in length, width, and depth on our customer's property. For example, if we are putting down colored mulch in two plant beds that are (12'x6'x2"). I would need to calculate the area square footage and how much mulch we would need to complete the project. If using bag mulch, one bag covers "2 cu ft." So, I would need to know how many bags would it take for this plant beds. I was wondering if there was a way to use or setup a "Form as Calculator" to enter Data to get measurements.

James I think the answer to your question is, you the expert of this job need to come up with the variables.  the invoicing programe will not work as you are trying to do a time and materials approch.  Do materials on one table, time and labor is another table you will need to sum up both.  materials is simple what does each item cost.  labor how fast you can do the job for billing time with how many boots on the ground...Keep in mind overhead and profit it cost money to order and pickup materials and the labor is diffrent per person you mave have 2 jorneymen and 1 craftsmen the the pay is not the same.  this is why I think two tables and then add them up in an invoice.  Richard if you do make this a developer project please accept my comments as feedback on how to approch this one.  Let me know if this helps and if your interested I can help you with this.
