Access 2010 Database Design

I have a need for a Database to keep data for my side 3D Printer business.  I have set up a Table with Customer info (name, address, city, state, and zipcode.  I have set up a Product Table, with Product SKU, description, and specs.  I have set up an Orders Table with Date of Sale, Customer Name, Several $ Fields, and 30 Item Fields.  So 1 order would look like Bill Smith, Apples.  Another Jim Jones, Bananas, Apples.  Another Jill Booth, Oranges, Bananas, Apples.  So as you can see in my Fruit example Apples (or any fruit name) could be in ANY of the 30 fields.

Sorry maybe I'm missing, what are you looking for help with?

Also I would make an OrderDetailT to cover your items included in your OrderT, that way you don't have 30 item fields that do nothing. Or what if someone comes in and buys 31 different fruits? That would be horrible ;). Using an OrderDetailT instead you could have 1 or 500 items for an order.

Ray - In addition to Adams' suggestions don't try and get too far ahead with a real database before you lock down the basics.
Richard suggests in several places to start out with following his databases and also even trying a little data base such as a hobby.

Definitely check out the TechHelp videos.  There are hundreds of FREE help videos (ranging from Beginner to Advanced topics).

Be sure when posting for help to actually ask a question.  You will get a lot better answers if you actually ask a question that is pretty specific and not overly broad.

Thank you for your reply.  I'm looking to see if I am building my Database correctly.  So if I understand (and please bear with me), I will have a Customer Table: containing Customer info
Product Table:  Containing details about my products
Orders table:  Having customer name and Order $
Orders Detail Table:  having all of the items that my Customer purchased represented by 1 record for every item they ordered.
Tying it all together will by my Access generated Customer ID that will be on ALL the tables.

Hi Ray. You're just starting out, so like the guys said, don't try to get too far ahead of yourself. Focus on what I cover in class right now - which is just working with the customer table. When you get into the Expert classes, you'll learn how to tie all of these things together. Customers - Orders - Order Details - Products. And no, your CustomerID isn't on all of the tables. Only the ones where you need to know the customer. Just keep watching the lessons. It's all explained in time.
