Save the document given

This is very useful in my practice. I would like to know how to save the document that I have given to my patient in their form. We have to give instructions to do certain tests which they have to follow 48 hours before tests. Most of them say that they have not got it when I know the front desk give it to them. This wastes 2 hours of our time as we cannot do the test. I want my FD to print it and it automatically documents the date and the type given. Also I want a received check box which I can make them check off as proof. We are wasting a lot of bill time and it would be great if you can help

What Ive learned is files are best stored on a shared folder and opened from the form via file pathway. Rick does a fantastic job explaining this concept in his Images video http://www.599cd.com/Images .

Kind of confused what you're saying here, the end goal is just to say "I gave John Adams the document for this"?

If so you can just make a one to many table relationship and store the document names there. So when you go into John Adams customer you can have a subform in it (or however you want to do it) for Documents Received and list the documents you have linked to him. (You could set this up to open the documents directly too in the same way that Rick teaches for storing file attachments).

Adam, I believe she want a "Patient Acknowledgement" type field (Signature?) that they received the docs.

Rajashree - Maybe print out a confirmation report (form for the patient) that they sign.  Scan it in and place it in with your document management.

My opinion is if a patient were to not follow through with the protocol and you have to reschedule they should be charged a re-schedule fee.  Ultimately, you can't force someone to do something but you can sure discourage it.

Agreed to both. I think I will associate the id to the form and save it to their attachment folder in Google  drive. That's where I keep pt files. Great advice. Thank you.
