Inventory table

I created a perfect inventory button in my access as per Richards new video. Thanks I love it. My inventory are hearing aid batteries that we order and sell to patients. My query has a calculated field of QtyX8 to show the no of packs we have. Most batteries come in 8 packs. I want to show calculated field of 4 pack as one size comes only in 4 pack and the inventory will confuse my staff. It is only for that one size batt..everything else comes in 8 packs.  I dont know how to attach a screenshot to make my explanation easier or wd have done it

I do have to put it as single batteries as medical insurances pay for certain amount of batt monthly. so I cannot default it into no of  packs.

So you're multiplying inventory by 8? One pack 8 batteries, to get the total number of batteries you have? If you only sell them in packs, not individually, why not just count it as one item?

That's because I have to give certain no of batteries to certain patients as their ins coverage. It's not always multiple of 8.

I don't want the 8pk for 675 to be seen as they come in 4 pks. Also similiarly I don't want 4 ptks for 13, 312 and 10 to be visible as they come in 8 packs. How do I do this?

Are 8 packs and 4 packs part of the product number or anything that you could use to identify them? I'm guessing QtyOnHand is a calculated expression in a query? You could use an IIF statement IIF Function. If you only have one product that is a 4 pack, you could make a calculated expression and say QtyOnHand: IIF(ProductID=4,NumberOfPacks X 4,NumberOfPacks X8).

Then if you put you had 100 packs, it would tell you that there was 400 batteries if the productID was 4, otherwise it would tell you 800. If that's not how you're setup, IIF is still the way to go, would just need to change what we're doing if the value is true or false. I'm not sure if you're putting in that you have 100 packs and then getting the qtyonhand from that, or if you're putting in the qtyonhand and then figuring out how many packs you have from that.

You'd need to add a PackSize field. If your 312 sized battery comes in 4 packs and 8 packs, use two different records.
