Current Customer with New Data
Brent Rinehart

want to ask everyone's opinion how they would tackle their database when they have a client who is related to multiple past project and this client worked for a particular company, but now this client works for a new company. If I update the clients contact info with their new company it would also update the older closed projects that are no longer active, which at the time they were active  that client was at the other company. SO my question would be would you create to contacts in the database and mark the other as inactive and the current one active with the current data for future project or is there a better way?

Yeah, unless you want to associate all past work with this person, then I would just create a new contact. That's another reason I like splitting people from organizations.

What would be the best way to split people from Organizations but still show who they work for and their current phone number and email which is associated with that company?

I create a ClientID and in a seperate table/form an associated ActiveClientID

Yeah, you could do a junction table with a many to many relationship to join multiple people with multiple companies.

I will give that a try, hopefully won't be to painful to a already established database with about 1400 records thanks again for the help always appreciated.
