In Windows XP Pro (SP2), is there a way to have shortcuts automatically updated so they can stay connected to their target files or folders after the latter have been moved?  If not, is there a more efficient way of reconnecting broken shortcuts with their moved targets--especially when there are a lot of them--than manually deleting them and re-creating new ones?

Not that I know of. Sorry. I'm sure you could write a little VB program to update your shortcuts for you - but I don't know of any non-programming way to do this.
