Error Message
Robert Sena

Need some help.  I created a form where I pay quantities of specific items. I then crated a link to another form that details the location of the pay items. The relationship is the SDID of the transaction and the specific location in the transaction. I am using a button. When I open the linked form with the button the transaction id is coming across on the linked form and am getting an error. When  I try to save the location details. There may be several locations for each transaction. Where would I find a solution to this problem? Error message to follow

Tried to copy screen shot and post.   The error message shows up when I attempt to save the LocationF.  It reads
"The Microsoft Access Database Engine cannot find a record in the SourceDocumentT (main form), with the key matching field(s) 'SDID'"  (The name of the relationship fields in each form).  They are both named "SDID".  The values both show up in the subform and both match.

I am using the following expression on the On Open event in the linked form "LocationDetailF":

Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer)
    If Me.OpenArgs <> "" Then
        Me![SDID].DefaultValue = "" & Me.OpenArgs & ""
    End If
End Sub

I am using the following expression for the on click event of the button:

Private Sub BtnLocDet_Click()
    DoCmd.OpenForm "LocationDetailF", WhereCondition:="[SDID]=" & Me![SDID], WindowMode:=acDialog, OpenArgs:=Me.[SDID]
End Sub

Hi Robert. Your screen shot is way too small to see much detail. Get rid of the OpenArgs stuff. Just set the default value of that SDID to the value on the previous form, just like I do with customers on the contact and order forms.
