Runtime error 3027
William Dowler

Message: Database or Object is Read-only.
Looked at my folder properties and the Documents folder is read-only.
I changed it but got the same result.
I changed all the permissions to Full Control. Same error.
When I click on the read-only to clear it for the folder it clears OK. Leave and go back to the folder and Read-Only is set again. This is doing my head in!!! Any ideas?

William
Is this one that you created or one that you just downloaded?

My initial guess is you need to have it in a Trusted Location - Covered in Beginner 2

Otherwise - were you doing anything that caused you to crash?
If that is the case take a look at the Troubleshooter  page and start at the top.

A Google search returns this:

About Runtime Code 3027

Runtime Code 3027 happens when Microsoft Access fails or crashes whilst it's running, hence its name. It doesn't necessarily mean that the code was corrupt in some way, but just that it did not work during its run-time. This kind of error will appear as an annoying notification on your screen unless handled and corrected.

Scott,
This is a database that I created and have been using for some time. I saw the google explanation for error 3027 but that doesn't explain how to fix it. I'll run through the Troubleshooter.... Thanks

Update:
Instead of .addnew/.update I used a SQL Insert to the table and the problem with the "Database or Object is read-only" went away.
I don't understand why!! Just happy to get it to work.
