Hi Guys,

Looking to put buttons on the top of my continuous form to filter the data but can't find a video anywhere on the site for it. Anyone know of any? Cheers

Dan,

I don't know of any that uses buttons for filtering, but these videos should give you some ideas.

Filter Records
Search Form 2.0

You could click a button to display an input box instead of filter fields.

Thanks Kevin. Was just messing around (Its how you learn right?) and literally just figured it out. Oddly enough while i have the Filter Ext Cut playing in the background.

The video gave me the idea for the me.filter vba code but i was trying to address the table field, rather than the form control.

Long story short, i now have a button which filters! Thanks. Uses code
    Me.Filter = "FORMCONTROLNAME = 'FILTERVALUE'"
    Me.FilterOn = True

Been working on this for about 4 hours now. The button works BUT breaks the "Open Record" button which is overlayed like in Search 2.0 and also breaks the add new entry button.

Tried a bunch of different stuff like
- Invoking Me.FilterOn = False and Me.FilterOn = True at different points
- Using Me.Filter = "" to clear the filter
- Putting them in On_Load events, before and after the code for the buttons

These created a variety of results, including getting one button working but another one broken.

Any suggestions? Cheers

What do you mean by "breaks?" What happens?
