Filter by the User logged in

New at all this development stuff --- heck don't even know enough to be dangerous ... well maybe enough LOL!
QUESTION:  Is there an easy way for me to filter records based on which "User" is signed into the database?

SITUATION/SCENARIO: I have created a User Table for folks to log into my database and it is password protected.  It's a basic contact management database that has a table for "Contact" stuff and for "Appointments" stuff. My ContactT table has a field "FollowUp" which is Yes/No and a FollowUpNotes field. There is combo box in which I pick the "User" to do the follow up.

So if I am signed in to the database how can I only see the followup notes that have been assigned to me.  If "Bee" is signed in I only want "Bee" to see the followup notes assigned to them.

Is this possible?

REMEMBER --- I'm a novice so think of me being in first or second grade where you are most likely in a Masters or Graduate program LOL

Alex I appreciate the link to the two videos!  I've watched Richard's Simple Security Video and the associated ones in mentions.  Since you know his "stuff" I am curious if you might be able to help me.

How can I set up some sort of automatic filter so that when "Tom" logs into the database only Appointments and CallBacks or FollowUps for Tom show up.

I know how to do the Queries however I am wanting to develop something so that if you sign into your front end you don't see my CallBack, FollowUp or Appointments and if I sign into my front end I don't see your CallBack, FollowUp or Appointments.

Does that make sense?  Perhaps I'm asking the wrong question!

You're only able to search on and manipulate your data depending on what you input in the first place.
First and foremost your appointment / contact record would need a field to "assign" it to a person-user in order to filter for it.

Then it is just a matter of adding that "current user" to your criteria for your query.  I assume you are storing the UserID

Check out the Value From a Form video for how to filter records based on the value in a form.

And without proper security, people will just be able to go into the tables and look at whatever they want anyways. Hence the Security Seminar. :)
