Do you have an option to add pictures to this to show the dented microwave, and then print a report with the text and picture to go along with what was found?

okay, I have seen both of videos, I need something more robust, what if you inspect 60 different topics, example 5 different rooms, exterior of the home, and on each topic there is 10 or more images showing the conditions of each topic. Is there a way for the report to have the text, and automatically go to a specific folder and pull these images, without clicking on them, and pulling them into  the word document with the text as show in the videos? I am sure there is a way to map out the folder directory and then pull the images, based off a specific folder name (name of the folder will never change), however location of the main folder will.

Access is good but one thing it doesn't do - read minds.  Unfortunately Access doesn't "automatically" do any thing you have to tell it what to do.  How would it know what picture to assign to what record?  It can only act on certain events.
You have to tell access what to do in those events. Usually, but not limited to,  the AfterUpdate.

So...  Saome how you have to associate those pictures with those records.  I don't know of any other way around it.

Is there a way where Access can map out main folder that has 50 sub folders? Save the main folder name, and the sub folders names into access and then associate the record to the newly mapped out folders, that contains the pictures?

Then with that new information, pull all the images from the sub folders into the document?

Yes

I cover something kinda like that in the Imaging Seminar - selecting an image and having the database copy it to a folder on the server. What you want to do would require some pretty complex coding to copy all of the files in a folder and it's subfolders. It's definitely possible, but you'll have to walk through the folders recursively. I cover advanced File I/O in the Developer series starting with Level 30.

Thank you for the follow up answer. I did a fair amount of web searching and found this is a big topic to pull images and place them into a word document in a specific layout.

Love the Picard quote. Are you a Trekkie?

Creating a Word document from Access isn't terribly difficult. Adding images can be tricky. I may cover that in a future video.

I would so want to see how you would set up something that would pull images many images from a specific set of folders and place these images in a word document with text, in a specific order, like you have shown in previous videos. This would tie in nicely with this template, items that you check off, and images to go with the discrepancy. The result would be a word document with some Text as a header, a description of the condition and pictures to validate the problem.

OK. I've got some ideas. I'll put a lesson together. It could be a little while though... I'm a little backed up. And no, I don't mean that I need Ex-Lax. :)

Why not just make an Access report and export it?

You could... but it lacks a lot of formatting. You might want to make it pretty in Word, and make it editable. I can see the need. I wouldn't use it myself, but I can see why some people might want to do that.

I want to edit the exported report in MS Word, Just need to get specific text with pictures from a specific folder. As I have about 60 topics to with lot of description and pictures following the text.  My end game is to have the user check the boxes, Yes, No, NA, which depending on answer would determine if the text would show. Once the text has been pulled from the table, then that text and pictures from a folder would be extracted and loaded into MS word for final adjustment. All of this is inspection based, that is why this is extremely important to me.
