Hi
I have a calculation that i can't figure out. I need to Subtract a meter reading of the Night shift (August 2/22) of previous day from the day shift (August 3/2022) of the next day.

Could use some help on this

Hi Kelly. You sent it to me. See that "Upload Images" link at the top of the thread? Use that. :)

Kelly I'm not sure what you mean by volume counting.  At any rate the methods and calculations apply whether it is for one person or for 500.  You would still perform the calculations - especially spanning days - in the same way.

Get rid of the spaces and the special characters in your field and table names. That will make things 10x easier.

Thanks Richard!

I would move that data into the same table. Making it two tables is going to make it so much more difficult, and you wouldn't be joining them together. You'd need to UNION that data together. It would be easier for me to show you how to properly set this up rather than to take what you have now and fix it. Are you married to this data structure, or can I teach you how to properly do it?

I would welcome the lesson! I kept getting duplicates in my primary key which is the serial number for each printer, that is why i separated it.

there is 2 entries per day per printer. one @ 6am and one @6pm This is capturing the counter volume for each printer twice a day which in turn will give me the volume printed for both color and B & W printing presses.
getting super frustrated as nothing i do is working

Yeah, it can be frustrating if your tables aren't set up right. Have you watched my Beginner 1 and 2 classes completely? If not, please do so. From the looks of your tables, you haven't (you're not sticking to my naming rules. Naughty naughty.) I'll try to make a video showing the proper way to set something like this up. The list is pretty long, so I can't promise when, though. In the mean time, watch those lessons!

Thank you Richard. I have finished begininer level one and starting level 2. I have now gone through and re-structured my database with correct naming conventions. added a auto number to my main dbase as well. I appreciate all the help! i will take a few more of your courses as i find them much more informative, easier to follow and better presented than the one i was taking on UDEMY.
