Date Time Stamp

Date & Time Stamp:
Now because I'm not as Swift as all the students at 599CD, and for the benefit of them who fall into my category I have listed in chronological order the steps needed to get the proper results.
In your table create a field named “Sign In” in the Data Type section select “Date/Time”. Now drop down to the Field Properties, on the Format line go to the far left and click on the arrow and select the “General Date” option. Save the Table.
Open the form that you want to place a Date & Time on.  In Design View from the Ribbon click on the “Add Existing Fields”, added the field “Sign In“ to the form. Now click on this field and go to its properties and change the Name and Control Source to “Sign In”. Drop down to the Format line and go to the far right, click on the down arrow and select “General Date.
Add a Command button to the form, when the form option screen opens, click on the cancel button. Now you have a Command Button on the form, open its properties change the Name and Caption to “Reset the Date && Time” close the properties window.  Now click on the button again and go to “Build Event”, Code Builder and place the following code.

Private Sub SIGNED_IN_Click()
Me.SIGNED_IN = Date ()
End Sub
Save the form. When you first open the form it will display the date only and will be saved in the table as such. Now if you click on the “Reset the Date & Time” button it will update to the Date and Time to the Second.
I did this because there many times that we revisit the form and do not want to change the original time input. This way it gives the option to do so as needed. Also if you click on the Date & Time box the Date Picker Calendar will be displayed which will give you the option to select another date, but first you will have to highlight the field and delete the current data. If you pick a new date it will only change the date but not the time.
I would like to thank my fellow students, Micah and Gary for their support.
