Can shrink for forms

I might be doing this wrong but I have a form based on a query that is essentially read-only. I would like the notes to collapse on this form instead of making a report because #1 its meant to be viewed on your screen, not to be printed or sent as a document, and #2 it has buttons to navigate around to different forms, etc. But I cannot get the can shrink to work on a form. Should I just make it a report then? Thanks!

Can Grow and Can Shrink only work for printing, not on the screen.

Can shrink / grow ONLY works in REPORTS.  Why they put the options on the forms properties when you cant use it is a bit of a confusion to me as well as many others.

So there are a couple of options you have.  Check out the Form Auto Resize video.
Also look at the Zoom video.
You could make it small and then have a button to "Make Big" when you need to.

Scott I just tested with a Print Preview of a form, and it does work but I also noticed another reason why we shouldn't print forms. I had a calculation in the OnCurrent event to give me the order total of each customer but in the preview, it displayed the total of the first record in ALL records.

Kevin good to know on the calculation of a field.  I had it ingrained in me so early on that you don't print forms I just never even try things.

Different topic - I know Richard showed us how, back in one of the Beginner or maybe Expert,  when a field got focus that it expanded out.  I think it was a text field but I don't recall.
I remember thinking it was kind of cool but never found a use for it.  Do you recall where that was?  Maybe that would work for Kerry.

Are you thinking of the Zoom Tech Help (Extended Cut)?

Can Shrink/Grow is on Forms for exactly the reason Kevin pointed out... because you CAN print forms, although you shouldn't. That's why there's a Page Header/Footer and a Form Header/Footer. I really wish they would just get rid of these things though and make people use reports for printing. It's a topic of confusion.

In my old job, I let users print forms, because sometimes they wanted "screen dumps" of what they saw exactly on the screen, instead of a report that might not have the exact data.  Pics below.

I suppose in modern day computing it would be easier to code a button which takes a screenshot and attach's to an email or ticket system
