Getting Error in Date Field
Susan Williams

I set up a ContactsT like in the Tech Help Free Template and to my knowledge have everything set exactly the same.[mine in named CommuniacationsT]

I'm getting an #Error message in the date field on the New/Not-yet-created record on the form. I can add a date, description, and note and it all works fine, but the error message is driving me crazy, and i don't want end-users to see it.

What am I missing?  Thanks!

Susan

What is the Default Value for your date field?

Addendum:
I also get this second error, "The Value you entered isn't valid for this field"... but I'm using a date in a date/time field...?

@Kevin... currently my default value is =Now(), but I got the same error before I had a default value.

The value in the image isn't a valid date which is why the error message is appearing.

For the error in the field can you post some Table Design View images for the field clearly showing the properties.

probably more images than you need... but if none of them are correct I'm happy to grab others :D

Regarding the invalid date... I grabbed the date from the Calendar PIcker --I guess I assumed the picker would select the date, but the formatting would dictate how it displays... does the picker always give the General Date? [i don't care about this as much as the other one, so if you have to pick and choose.. :D

The Default Value in the Form is a String ("Today").
You can delete it and the field will get it's Default Value from the Table.
Or to get the current date change to =Date().
