Highlight a field

Is there a way to highlight a field in a form when the cursor is on it?

Go to File--Options--Client Settings--Select Entire Field

All the text in the field will be selected when you tab to the field.

Thanks, Kevin, but I meant to highlight the whole box even without the text in it. For example, The box is a light blue, when the cursor enters it the box changes to say a light green.

Hi Gary I never done this myself but just tried it and got the following to work, I see you might just be at the beginner stage of the learning classes so I am not sure if this will make sense to you or not.  You can add the following code in the MouseMove event of the text box you want to turn yellow when your mouse hovers over it Me.TextBox.BackColor = vbYellow replace TextBox with the name of your text box, then to change it back to white when your mouse leaves the text box you will need to add the follow code in the MouseMove event  of the detail section Me.TextBox.BackColor = vbWhite this assumes your textbox is in the detail section of your form.

Here's how I would handle this (see screenshot below).
I created a sub routine to handle the recolouring so as not to have duplicate code.
I only did 2 fields but you see how it works.
Change the number values in the RGB function to suit your needs.

I agree on the duplicate code if you would be doing this for multiple text boxes, Kevin does this work for you when you move your mouse over the text box? it seems to only work when you click in the text box for me, Was Gary looking for a mouse hover effect or when you click the mouse in the text box?

You can do this pretty easy with conditional formatting.
Select a field text box. Change the background color.

If that is what you want - double click on the format paint brush and click on all that you want to have that color for.

Can you do something like this when the mouse hovers over the field, but you do not click on the field? Thats was what I was trying to do.

Brent I'm not aware of any event for just hovering over a field using conditional formatting.
Kevin did post a solution here: Color change on hover label
I have not had a chance to play with it.

Yeah looks like he was also using the Mouseover event same as I was doing, Not sure what way Gary was looking to have it work weather when the mouse hovers over the field or when you click in the field, but either way you guys have covered both ways so he should be good to go.  Thanks

Kevin, Scott & Brent, Thank you. Yes, I am new to access and Scott's post above is exactly what I was wanting. I tried searching this on the internet but several sites said there was no way. I was expecting it had to done using VBA, never thought of conditional formatting. Thank you all.
