Hi ,

At our clinic there is rule once a doctor writing a report he can modify only with then 12 hours or maximum 24 hours after that time he can't modify or updating that record only the updating or modify after 24 hours can be done by administrator only ( is that option avaliable in MS Access ?? )

Sure, it's nothing built-in but with VBA almost anything is possible.

You would need some kind of login user control such as the Access Security Seminar

Then when you know who is using the machine all you have to do is record the time that the change was made and if it's 24 hours later then lock the form. Then when the user goes to the form it will see this is the user John Smith and when that user comes to the form we change how some of the form works, so lock the field if it's been 24hr.

Hi Adama ,

Just put it in your code. You can make up any situation you want and put it in the VBA.

The user is doctor, the field is blank, don't do anything.
The user is doctor, the field is not blank, check if it has been 24 hours and lock just the field or the entire record
The user is doctor and they pressed a button, unlock the field or record or do anything really
The user is doctor and they moved to a new record, ignore the code all togethor

It's really hard to explain because you really can do anything. You can say if it's Tuesday and the 24th day of the month between 8 and 9 AM then lock the field. You have complete control over when you want the field to be editable or not editable, and under any circumstances that you want to create.
