What is a small database

Dumb question but I'm a novice Access user who has set up a  database to track patient encounters. We are a team of 5 and my institution won't give us shared drive space as they are pushing everyone to Sharepoint. How big is a "small" database before I teach myself how to split my database and make user friendly for Sharepoint - I think mine is tiny at 2.4MB after 2 months of use - primarily 3 data holding tables, the rest is reference tables, forms, a few queries...Thanks!

The only dumb question is the one unasked.

The better questions are what is the usage of your database by the others?  Are you all in the same location or differing locations?
Are there multiple people on the db at the same time?

There isn't really a size requirement per se but a functionality that is more important.

Access has a 2 gigabytes file size limit, so your current file size is very small.  File size is actually more important for online services like Sharepoint because those services charge by size basically.  Regarding your institution, what "shared drive space" is it?  Is it space in a local computer?  In a remote computer?  And what exactly is the size limit your institution gives you?  Even 100-300 megabytes, which is nowadays a puny amount of space for a local computer, should be plenty enough for an Access database file.

Thanks, I appreciate the questions and info - shared drive would be remote server, which is what I'm used to. The chances of all of us working on dB at one time are low but possible - most team members would just be using forms to enter patient encounters (20 to 30 per month); I do the majority of the data entry. There would be two of us who have access to run reports, again primarily me though.
