Show just number of records
David Clement

Hello,
Is there a way to show just the number of records and nothing else in a query?
My table has over 21,000 records in it. All part numbers.
I have made different queries of each of the brands of parts. They all work great, thank you for showing how to do this.
I would like a query to show how many of each brand of part is in the database with just 1 query.
Each brand of parts starts with 101 then a letter for the brand of part, then a /.
An example of this would be: 101A/ followed by the number.
I would like a query to show how many of brand A, brand B and so on.Just how many different parts for each. My individual queries show all the other relevant information.
As Richard always says, "There is a way to do just about anything in access".
Thank you so much.

I have tried that, and it works, but not quite what I would like.

The 1 of 417 is what I am after, but for all 5 othe the brands I have. One of my queries has over 6500 records. I just want to see that, if possible. One query to show 101G/ and 101A and so on and the number of parts in each.
Thank you.

In a previous post you wanted to get the start of the Part Number.
This one: Query Criteria
Did you manage that?

After you have the calculated field to isolate 101G etc. you can build a second query and aggregate based on the first.

The screenshot below shows an example of how to get the count based on the prefix before the Forward Slash.
I used 2 Queries to get the desired result.
