Move up and down rows in forms
Masih Ostad Novin

Hi Richard!
I want to move up and down rows in a form. I came acroos that if I mark a row or right a new row and with right click on the mouse I can cut/copy the row and paste it higher up where I like but it will replace that row. I don't want that. Is there a way with buttons or VBA to do just that??? For example, I want to move row no. 25 and put it before meeting. I submit a pic. Thanks.
Best
Masih

But I want to move the whole row not only the marker or cursor. None of those videos show me that. Can I add a new row in that list?

The first video I pointed you to,  Custom Sort Order, will move the whole record not just the current field.

Additional note.  You aren't physically moving the records.  Just determining how they appear.

Hi Masih.  Am I correct in assuming that what you want to do is not a Sort, but a Relocation of a record in the list, based on a selected position, rather than an entire record sort.   Is that right?

Can you provide a link to the example you found that is similar to what you want to do?

Yes. Thanks Scott. It works and yes Gary, that's exactly what I want but I think sorting will do. If there's another quicker way I would like to know. Thanks.

Masih -
I remembered another video that might be appropriate for you.  Automatic Record Numbering

Depending on how often you are renumbering your list I don't know if this would be over kill for you.  If you do it frequently It might be appropriate.  Richard takes this video and the extended cut a step farther in the  Access Developer 22 course and automates it even further.
