ComboBox.Dropdown

LOW PRIORITY ISSUE

FormA opens FormB with CommandButtonOPEN. This 2nd Form (B) has a ComboBox populated with [string] values, one of which I select; then the selected string is copied to the original FormA with code that includes, Forms!FormA!TextBoxSTRING, and then closes itself via VBA.

No code functionality problems here; however, I would like FormB's Combobox to get the Focus as well as "Dropdown" immediately when its Form is opened. Currently, FormB's tab order does put the focus on the ComboBox, but no Event fires the Dropdown code.

Where would you recommend I place the <coboBoxNAME>.Dropdown to cause this action (or is it even doable)?

Thanks.

I would put the code in the Button that opens the form.

I wonder, Kevin, if I'm just barking up the wrong tree? What I've been doing is making an empty TextBox first in the tab order when FormB opens, out of which an <ENTER> navigates to the Combo where its ON GOT FOCUS can trigger the action. I can live with this.

Now, the wife of 40 years may be another matter. . .

You need to set the focus to the Combo Box first before dropping i down.

Docmd.OpenForm "FormName"
Forms!FormName!ComboName.SetFocus
Forms!FormName!ComboName.Dropdown

Thanks. Got it. When the experts turn a light on, I can see my way around.

Works like a charm, lad. Thanks!
. . .that takes care of the wife, and now for the database control. . .
