Subform Shows Wrong Record
Amanda McDonald

I created a Union Query that populates a list box in a form with a subform to edit the records. I am having a problem with the subform displaying a different record than what is selected in the list.

I created a unique ID so that the list selection won't jump to another record if there are multiple records with the same IDs.

The query only popluates with records where the INV # is null. But the only thing I am adding to the record is the invoice number and invoice date.So every time I enter the invoice number and date on the subform, save it, and then click on the next record in the list the old record is removed from the list. That is not the problem, I want the completed records to be removed once complete.

The problem is that when I click on the next record in the list it doesn't populate that record in the subform. It populates the one right below it. I can click on a different record in the list and then go back to the first one and it populates correctly. It is only when I save a record in the subform and then click on the next record in the list (which closes the form and requeries the list) that it populates a different record in the subform than what is selected in the list.

What I think is happening is that after I save the subform and click on the 2nd record in the list, (the first record is the one I just changed in the form and saved) the list requeries, but is "remembering" I clicked on the 2nd record in the list. So it populates the 2nd record of the newly queried list into the subform even though it shows the 1st record is selected on the list.

Is there a way to automatically populate the next record in the list after saving the form? There are three different subforms. Or another solution so that what is selected in the list is always what is displayed in the subform?

I just want to add. That I can, and I will just click on the 1st record in the list to get it to populate the correct record in the subform. However, I am not the only one who will be using this form so I need a solution for them.

Can you just make the Save button requery the listbox? Then it will already have refreshed before you even go up to click on the next record.
