Expert 22 Lesson 1

I have just downloaded the Access Expert 22 files from the the website and run the Query CustomerWithMostRecentDataQ, Richard ran that Query in the video and it ran correctly  giving addresses and phone numbers in the required fields. When I ran it,  it again left the Address and Phone fields empty so I can only conclude that it is an Access 2016 issue regarding the later version of access.

I just downloaded the db from the course and it appears to work okay. To be honest, I don't remember what was being taught in the class though.

Try it out using Richard's course db and see if it works there. My guess is you missed some tiny little thing or have a typo. Compare your db with Richard's. If that doesn't help, we'll probably need a screenshot of what you have, in design mode, to help troubleshoot.

As I said, I downloaded Richard's Database for Expert 22 and ran the Query CustomerWithMostRecentDataQ, without altering it in any way  and it returned 3 results which is what is was designed to do, but it still left the Address and Phone fields empty.

OK so it is running just fine for me.
The only thing I can think of is that the date format is getting you because you are in the UK.  Access sometimes doesnt like to play nice in that regard.

Kevin or Alex - Can you confirm if there is an issue?  I'm unsure how to test since I'm in the US.

I have copied both My DLookup Statement for Address and Phone to a text file, and pasted Richards directly below so that each character is lined up and they are Identicle.   I am not going to worry too much about it as I need to progress to the advanced and developer lessons.

Scott I downloaded the database and it worked as intended for me. All the data was populated in the query.

As I posted my last comment I realised I am using the ISO date format. Perhaps that could be the issue.

Alfred,
Perhaps try formatting your dates to the US standard (mm/dd/yy).
