quiz generator help

I'm trying to "write" weekly quizzes and, having stepped away from DB work for a while I'm struggling with the framework. Here's my scenario:

I have a table of questions that could be used in a number of different quizzes.

I want to do some action in a Questions Form (check a box, double click, whatever), to add that question to a quiz (basically write the quiz by "clicking on" the questions

I want to also be able to assign each quiz to any number of courses.

So, Quiz A was given on Jan 14 in Writing 101 and also on Jan 18 in Basic Grammar.

I obviously need a <B>Question </B>table.  I believe I also need a <B>Quiz </B>table and a <B>Course </B>table. But maybe the questions for the quiz are in a Query?

I'm pretty sure I need Many to Many relationships, (Question::Quiz, and perhaps Quiz::Course), but should QuizT or CourseT be a/the Join table?

My End Goals:
1) a table with tons of questions and the ability to dynamically generate a quiz
2) a form to show when/where each question was used.
3) a collection of unique quizzes (which may contain some of the same questions)
4) a form to show when/where each quiz was used
5) a form that shows each course and the quizzes given in that course

I can see it so clearly in my head and am hoping a good soul in the Access Learning Zone can help me get it out of my head and into my DB!

Thanks!  Happy to answer any questions/clarify any anything :-D

The old ASP Seminar - Create an Online Database Using MS Access and ASP showed how the original Skills Test Quiz was built. It may help with the table structure.

Why don't you break it down into manageable chunks.

So the simplest version would be what?

QuizT with ID, Name
QuestionT with ID, Question, QuizID (FK)
AnswerT with ID, Answer, IsCorrect, QuestionID (FK)

Try with that first and add in some

Richard did something similar in Developer courses 9 thru 11.

Thanks for the suggestions, Alex. I will look at the course you suggested, but I have $0 budget for this project :D.

Also, I am creating this for an analog world--question and answer 2 fields in the same table and the quizzes will be printed and corrected manually.  Though I will certainly that a simpler, more manageable chunk.

Have you drawn out what the analog version looks like?
Might be worth sharing a screenshot of that to help with a visual of what you want to achieve.

Hi Susan
You definitely want to take Alex's suggestion. I also think that you need to identify what you are attempting to test. This is coming from an educators view. Ask yourself - what skill or knowledge did I teach this student that I now want to see if he/she learned the skill/knowledge.  Then, ask yourself - What this student would need to do to assure me that the skill or knowledge was learned. Then, begin the mechanics of Quiz construction and base your questions on your previous questions and answers.
