Color Selection In VBA Editor
David Semon

Sorry to disagree with you about your color selection, but from my perspective it makes it harder for me to read what is on the screen.  Especially, since I mostly use the standard colors in my VBA editor.  So, I have to adjust my brain to your colors when watching a video.  Perhaps I will get used to your colors and even change mine to match yours.  But, for now I prefer the mostly standard colors.

The dark color theme used in Richard's video is pretty much a standard feature today in almost every type of programs and platforms.  Access, Word, and Excel all have built-in dark themes.  But the VBA editor itself is a separate, older program, so it doesn't have it.  I also set up dark theme in VBE, and set the font to Consolas, which is also monospaced but slightly more aesthestic.  I set the query designer font to Consolas too in Options -> Object Designers.

The dark theme does take a little getting used to, but I much prefer it, especially when I'm working at night and I've got the lights in the room dimmed. It's much easier on my eyes. Excuse me, my eye. :)

Dark mode is so pervasive nowadays that any developer should consider adding it to their apps.  Web apps make it easy because browsers often take care of dark modes.  But making dark modes for Windows apps like in Access could be a lot more demanding task.

Of course, early computers all used "dark mode." Dark background and light text were used in DOS, mainframe terminals, and the likes.

Ah, good old WordPerfect for DOS with white text on a dark blue background. I loved it.

I did NOT care for my TRS80 with the black text on a bright green background. Yuck.

Yeah but boy, could I write some great Basic Programs. My boss was impressed when I was 17 and wrote a sales/invoice program that merged over to an Account Receivable Program that they used to send out and keep track of accounts. I started on a Model 1 and programmed using GWBasic through the Model 4 and he even bought me a Model 4P to use at home.
