Multi table agg query

I have a project beyond my coding abilities. The database is for a non-profit foster youth program. The program reimburses foster parents on a monthly basis for each night a foster youth stays in their home. There may be multiple date entries per foster parent per month and so the foster parents would need to be grouped along with the total fee reimbursement due to them. A report is sent to accounting to process.

I can easily achieve grouping the foster parents along with a total sum of the fees. However, this query/report also requires that each youth, and their staff case manager, are related and displayed the query/report.

There are 6 tables involved and I don't think the SUM function alone in Query design view to Group and Sum fields can handle more than two tables without advanced VBA and SQL coding that is beyond my ability. I am currently using an Excel spreadsheet in lieu of Access for the time being.

If you are interested, I can email the Excel file you as a model so, you can provide a quote.

Hi Adam,

I am under HIPPA regulations so, I will have to create a generic, HIPPA compliant version of my database project along with the Excel file before I send it to you.

Hello Adam, pardon the late reply. Here are the screen shots of representing the data and the ideal output for the report, which would be the second image.

The first image is the exported Excel file from my Query. The second image is the sum for each Foster Parent requested by my accounting department. I copied the exported file and then manually summed each Foster Parent for accounting to run the budget and send checks with the proper amount.

I have six tables. 1) Fee Tracker T. 2) Foster Family (Parent) T. 3) Foster Fee Rates T. 4) Staff T. 5) Youth Allowance T. 6) Youth T.

I don't think Access can create an Agg query to produce the output in the second image. If this is the case, are you expert in Excel. If so, is there a way to automate summing each Foster Parent total in Excel instead of doing so manually?

Let me know what you think and what your fee is to move forward.

FYI, all the names are from TV show characters.

Thanks
