Validate Totals
Rakendra Mouli

I want to validate the cumulative total as not zero and not greater than the NoOfCases field value in the OrderDetails table for the respective OrderDetailsID. I want to calculate the cumulative total for the CodeListDetailsID records in the continuous form having OrderDetailsID value as 1 and compare it with the NoOfCases field value for the OrderDetailsID value 1 in the OrderDetails table. How can I achieve this and restrict the update to the table if this validation fails using VBA?

Mr Rakendra

Typing in ALL CAPS is rude and unprofessional. Not to mention difficult to read.
Please resubmit your post.

Sami: I fixed it.

Rakendra: please avoid typing in ALL CAPS in the future, and I'm sorry, but I don't understand your question. Please clarify.

sorry for the inconvenience happened what i was trying to say is In the OrderDetailsT table for the OrderDetailsID record having field NoofCases has value that NoofCases is produced on different dates which will be recorded in CodeListDetailsT table through the CodeListF form which was linked to CodeListDetailsT table is used to enter the details by selecting the OrderDetailsID from the combobox and enter the details productiondate, farmerid by selecting the FarmerID from the combobox, pond no, noofM/cPacked fields. what i was willing is to validate the total as not zero and not greater than the NoOfCases field value in the OrderDetails table for the respective OrderDetailsID. I want to calculate the cumulative total for the CodeListDetailsID records in the continuous form having OrderDetailsID value as 1 and compare it with the NoOfCases field value for the OrderDetailsID value 1 in the OrderDetails table. How can I achieve this database file i am attaching for reference

I'm lost. I don't understand the relationships between your order form and the code list form...???
