The reason you are an effective teacher includes facts beyond your knowledge of the topic.
First, your humor makes you approachable, real, and is disarming.
Second, people think programmers simply know how to code and just type it out. The truth is, there are errors, and trial and error, in every project. By including your "on purpose" and accidental errors in the videos, your student's confidence increases. We can relate to that much more readily than someone who simply goes through the code perfectly every time. The way you talk us through your videos brings us into the process and makes us a part of it.
Third, we all need people to look up to and learn from if we are to grow. Your passion and genuine care for your students makes you someone to look up to and want to engage with.
I have been using Access since 1994 and I realize you can only learn so much on your own. We all limit ourselves in various ways. Your style has opened up my mind to other possibilities.
I am not gushing. I am simply providing sincere feedback and appreciation for your work. You are making things better for my software and company.
