I've been using access for 20 years to organize my work.  I have multiple databases and am largely self-taught.  Every warning you give to the newbies, like "don't run out and apply these varsity level programming to your database without first understanding the basics" applies to my experience completely.  My original database has 95 fields of all different types of subjects.  I plan to watch all the videos before re-working everything but it's so tempting to jump right in.

I'm glad you appreciate the advice. A lot of people get all gung-ho and excited after watching just the first basic lesson or two and think they can get in there and paint the Mona Lisa. But I try to tell them the beginner stuff is great and all, but once you get into the expert stuff and learn SQL and relationships, then you're going to want to completely redo everything you just did.

So my advice, like I say in the videos, is to take it easy, take it slow, build a practice database with something that you enjoy, like baseball card collecting or whatever, and then after at least the first couple of extra classes, you'll be ready to start working on your real database.
