Multi Field Search Query Null Value problem
Andreas

Hello and thank you for your time reading my comment/issue.
I just watched ur great video about Multi-Field Search Query as i really needed it.
Now i will explain my issue here, I have three tables named Inventory,Brands and Category.
Brand stores BrandID and BrandType.
Category stores CategoryID and CategoryType.
Brand and Category are foreign keys in my main table that is Inventory.
I have a search that has four fields.
Name,Surname,Category and Brand.
User can fill what ever he wants in any of those fields and then he cant press the Search Button.
The search is working greatly , but !, for example i will always have a category that has a brand but a category and a brand sometimes is not neccesary that will be correlated to a person.
That means 95% of the time a user will be related to a category and a brand but a 5% a category and a brand will be alone with no user.
Therefore when i search in my field , for example when i search about a category name Monitor the search query do not give result.
I know whats the issue here, its the null value as i made my research before i post here and i saw a comment on your youtube video that u will explain it in the future what to do with multifield search query.
I will also show you now my query.
SELECT Inventory.FirstName, Inventory.LastName, Inventory.CategoryID, Inventory.BrandID
FROM Inventory
WHERE (((Inventory.FirstName)=[forms]![SearchForm]![Namee]) AND ((Inventory.LastName)=[forms]![SearchForm]![Surnamee]) AND ((Inventory.CategoryID)=[forms]![searchform]![Category]) AND ((Inventory.BrandID)=[forms]![searchform]![Brand]));
I hope i explain right my self and i will wait for a comment :) Thank you for your time.
