Pricing Problem
Asteropi Papadopoulou

So I have 2 sets of prices (retail and wholesale) and 2 sets of customers (retail and wholesale)

I created an OrderPrice query so that it will recognise the type of customer and immediately draw the proper set of prices. So far so good

Then this query I load on another query that has all the order details (OrderDetailQ)
The moment I do so, I can't add any products on my order. If I delete that function, it works fine.
I tried changing the joins but I get an error. See the pictures for more details

What could possibly be the problem??

Your query doesn't tell me much because it's literally Greek to me. LOL. But you have a common problem where you're just making a query too complex and you lose the ability to update the records in it. You'll have to have another solution to your problem. Not Updateable.

If you've built your database the way that I built my invoicing database, then you'll just have to determine the price of your product at the moment that it's added to the order. You shouldn't need to make a complex query to display this information.

The issue may be that your primary key and related on the many side is in more that one table.  This is the way and is correct, but in an updateable query, you will get this issue.  Try going to the query properties and change the Recordset Type property to "Dynaset (Inconsistent Updates)".  This just tells Access that "Yeah I know, but let me update the record anyway"...

Hi Asteropi
Richard is absolutely correct! Try making a simple query with 2 or 3 tables and make sure it works. Then use that query within the next query. See how that works for you
