tracking labor hours

HELP!!!!!
I would like to know if someone outthere that has already experiences with what I need. Please help me.
I need to create a program to calculate actual time that the employees work on certain project.
example:
Employee A work on project # 1
starting time is today at 8AM
but she stopped at 9AM to do some other so her first total for this project # 1 is one hour. then later around 2PM she continues works on the same project and stops at 4PM. so the total of this project is (8AM-9AM = 1 hour) and (2PM- 4PM = 2 Hours). the total project is 3 Hours. ( she can time out and time in as many as she needs)
Very simple concept but i am not sure how to do it. how do i make it time in and time out automatically? some kind of button in the form? If someone has an idea, please help me.
I hope every one have a great Holidays.
Thanks
Lilly Nguyen

Lilly, I cover tracking employee work times in my Work Order Seminar. There's a whole section on creating a form to track labor items: start time, end time, worker, description, etc.

Yes, you could use a button on a form on the worker's copy of the database that they could click on to log start and end times on projects. That's just inserting values into a table. A simple SQL INSERT statement or Recordset would do it.

Once you have the start time and end time, you can easily calculate the number of hours with some math. See this tip video for details.
