Finishing up Access Developer 46 Today

Yeah, I know it's been a long time since I finished Access Developer 45, but I finally started 46 yesterday. Got two videos recorded yesterday and I plan on finishing it today, barring any more emergencies on the website. LOL.

Looking great. The technique used to go to the restored record was genius.

Definitely some things I would never have thought of. Even though I test my code continuously I would have been pulling my hair out for hours over those issues.

Yes! Changing the caption on the Undo button was really neat.

Would love to see this done at a global level where you could add the Undo button to ANY form and it would work for the form that it is on. I guess that would add another level of complexity to this functionality.

Looking forward to D47. Class Modules?
I have a little experience with Class Modules in VB.NET, but none in Access. YET!

Yeah, it's definitely possible. You'd have to store the table name and the list of required fields. While you could figure out the required fields programmatically, you wouldn't be able to store it in a single table like that. You'd have to have another table that was name-value pairs for the field and the value.

So yeah, we're getting into some serious complexity if you want to make this global throughout the entire database. Could it be done? Yep. I'm sure it can, but it would be crazy tough. And I would be up to the challenge if enough other people want to see it. I wouldn't waste that much time on something like this unless a significant number of you developer students wanted to see this.
