Thanks. The VAST majority of views and subscribers are UNPAID, which is fine. I love helping people, regardless of whether they're paying me or not. If I was independently wealthy and didn't have to worry about paying my bills, I'd probably still do this for free because I really do enjoy what I do. Some people see "whoa, 241k subscribers... you must be getting rich." Ha! Sadly, no. Of those 241k, less than half of one percent are paid members. It pays the bills, but I ain't turning into Elon Musk over here. LOL.
Fortunately a lot of the members that I do get (such as yourself) do purchase additional courses, templates, etc. so it definitely helps. I'd love to NOT have to sell courses and memberships and just rely on YouTube advertising dollars for income, but sadly that's not gonna happen anytime soon. You'd need at least a million subscribers to get to that level, and as I calculated in an earlier post, I'll be a real old man before that happens... unless I start cranking out videos of my dogs doing funny things.
As far as website traffic goes, I've seen a steady increase in that over the years. Used to be I was happy to see ANYONE on the site. Now at any given moment there's usually between 20 to 50 people online, and that's pretty cool. It's a far cry from my single-line BBS days back in the early 90s. 300 baud modem anyone?
Took me a few minutes to put it together, but there you go. Total Subs is taking my current total and subtracting backwards as they don't have a "number of subs at this moment" stat. But it looks pretty accurate. Interesting to note that for 5 years, my most popular video was an Excel video, and in 2019 it was a Word video. I need to get back to doing those. Lots of other competition, but the pool of users is SIGNIFICANTLY larger.
It's also interesting to note that back in the 2010s, my #1 Access videos were getting 5-6 TIMES the views as my #1 videos now. Could it be because of the sheer number of videos I have online (dilutes views) or is it a decline in Access users? Hmmmm....
Also, I know I started my channel in 2006, but the first date for which they have views data is April 1st, 2007, so the data may be skewed accordingly. Also, they don't have watch time data before September 1st, 2012.
